A cinema screen is a lot bigger than a TV screen. I know that a projected movie doesn't have the definition of ,say, a good quality DVD on a decent TV. In fact, I've seen some movies at the cinema that, frankly, were awful on the big screen, but looked fantastic on DVD (The Two Towers for instance looked incredibly grainy at the cinema, yet my DVD copy is brilliant).

I suppose as with any new technology, it will soon surpass the quality of what went before. It will be nice to see a movie at the cinema without all the dirt and scratches that seem to afflict regular film releases.
