A cinema screen is a lot bigger than a TV screen. I know that a projected movie doesn't have the definition of ,say, a good quality DVD on a decent TV. In fact, I've seen some movies at the cinema that, frankly, were awful on the big screen, but looked fantastic on DVD (
The Two Towers for instance looked incredibly grainy at the cinema, yet my DVD copy is brilliant).
I suppose as with any new technology, it will soon surpass the quality of what went before. It will be nice to see a movie at the cinema without all the dirt and scratches that seem to afflict regular film releases.
