Yes, it really does come down to politics and economics. The engineers know well that the technology is there, and has been sitting there for years.

It comes down to political will and a positivist view for the future - IE if we can, we must, we will. Before you know it, its We Did.

Nice clean energy, electric cars & fast trains, no polution in cities.
