This site is interesting, speculates that Inuit, Finn and Ainu may have had shared roots and were linked via river and sea craft of skin boats using moose ribs, that was changed to wooden craft with wood ribs in some cultures. Mr. Paabo tries to link the linguistics and some culture artifacts of northern subarctic peoples.

Interesting that the Basque word for water is "ur".
