Today Anna, Jenny, Jeff and I went to Moundville for the Native American Festival there.
Jenny and Anna
We had a GREAT time … and I’m happy to report that I HAD AN INDIAN TACO (which was made with frybread) and I can understand all the hoopla now! It was fantastic!!!!
If you hear an offkey note in the following it came from one of the kids in the audience who had bought cheap flutes for a buck and instantly thought they could play them although in person I must say it felt like millions of kids ~shudders~ sorry for that horror …. You will at times hear Jeff, Anna, Jenny or myself as well … damn microphones!
These two videos were made in the knappers corner

The Native American singers, dancers, flutists, and drummers today were from the Choctaws who were forcibly moved to Texas from Alabama.

On this one I have to say it was great being out on the main plaza area at Moundville by ourselves (you can see some of the smaller mounds in the background) everyone else was at the arts and crafts tents and other areas … and hearing off in the distance the flute playing …… what bliss that was!
