It's the worst kind of source, lol--secondhand but I'm going to see what information I can get from the fellow telling it.

The dating would make it peculiar that the Navajo brought peaches with them. I think that the tentative arrival date for Navajo is 5000 bp+. This would be before the time that peaches began being cultivated in China. So, this park ranger/cultural anthropology student poses a problem if she does indeed have evidence of peaches preceding the Spanish.

I'll see what I can dig up.
