No its not. Rover had nothing to do with Ford apart from when Ford later bought Landrover. Before that Rover was with BMW, and before that they were with Honda. Now Rover is independant again, although they have new links with Indian and shortly Chinese manufacturers.

The new 'Rover' mini was basically finished being designed when BMW bought them, to get their hands on the fancy mini.

This was the original concept car for the new mini, but it was basically finished before BMW got involed. They did the electronics and engine though.



My Landrover is one of the last all Brit designs before they went Ford, it even has a Brit engine (!) which is a big deal over here now!
