The first 12 issues of FATE Magazine (1948-50). In 1948, after editor Ray Palmer left the SF pulp magazine Amazing Stories, following the controversy over his promotion of the Shaver Mystery, he decided to found his own magazine, Fate, dedicated to stories about flying saucers, ancient mysteries, the paranormal, cryptozoology, and other Forteana. Basically it was In Search Of in print form 20 years earlier. Its influence on the modern New Age, paranormal, and pseudoarchaeology worlds is highly under-recognized.
