lol, yes...turtles will eat the real thing and my son wasn't happy with an empty turtle tank with just a filter and dock. So, I made a deal with my son. If Sasuke survived 6 months (mortality is frequent when they are this young), we'd pick up some decorations for the turtle tank. Hence, the fake floating plants and smooth large rocks. It was better than some of what my son wanted to get! LOL

Since Sasuke is doing really well and is in excellent health, we're going to be building an outdoor pond in the next year or so for our backyard so that he can enjoy the summer sunshine. That will have some of the real stuff in it. He's going to be a spoiled little turtle but he's adorable so why not.
