Yeah. Then we brought Von Braun (and a few other highly placed Alt-Nazis) to the United States in the course of the "space race," and all was forgiven, if not entirely forgotten. As Tom Lehr commented on Braun's shifting allegiances, "'once they go up, who cares where they come down. It's not my department ‘ says Werner von Braun"; and don’t forget, "Sure there were some Nazis: two or three at most." Lehr also has the priceless "Once all the Germans were warlike and mean, but that couldn't happen a again. We taught them a lesson in 1918 . . . ." Not political, by the way. Just damned funny.
