I thought it was just another writer with sour grapes too before I read the
articles, which make it painfully clear that the reporter knows *nothing* about
the fantasy genre. 'Morris dancing to greensleeves' indeed!
JK apparently isn't too up on it herself since she apparently didn't realize
magical worlds are just one subset of the genre. Susan Cooper's 'The Dark Is
Rising' series, Lewis' Planetary trilogy, and Tim Powers' works and those of
Tom Holt are all examples of magic in this world fantasies, and there are many,
many more.
Oh, and JK, Susan isn't cast out of Narnia for becoming interested in boys -
she rejects in favor of being 'grown up'. But I have every hope she came back
to it in time.
