A few comments:

Ecclestone is not John Pertwee (my favourite DW). No gravitas.

The "updated" theme music is not as good as the original (if it ain't broke, don't fis it).

Billie Piper played Billie Piper; I wonder if she can act?

The animated mannequins were not nearly as menacing as those in the "old" storyline with animated mannequins.

The direction aropund the bit with the "animated plastic god" was awful -- it was stretched out to about 5x as long as it needed to be and destroyed the dramatic tension that the story deserved.

Maybe I'll get to like it, but I was disappointed. Maybe I'm just a boring old fart who's stuck in the past...
