. I am unable to work for a living, so books, music CDs, etc are very much luxury items. So, I have to be very selective about what I buy. If I won the lottery, I'd waltz (figuratively speaking) into Borders and buy a copy of just about every book they have.
I use my local library a lot, but it's not the same as owning a copy of a book.
Your experience at the hairdressers sounds like a case of delicious serendipitous synchronicity, to me.
I don't know about an online transcript of Tony Robinson's programme, or even if there is a book to accompany it. I'll have a rummage and see what I can find.
I see that Ritva and Herur enjoyed 'Angels and Demons'. It'll be interesting to see what you and I (amongst others?) make of it.
