Even at somewhere as supposedly sane as the ARCE Annual Meeting they come crawling out of the woodwork
I spotted one in this years schedule and ducked out of the Giza session for a bit of light entertainment. The author made two
big mistakes. Firstly he distributed a handout and secondly he asked for any questions.
Having skimmed through his handout I noted that he had the correct reference for the latest, most up to date, measurements of the Red pyramid; a slope of 45 degrees, but had used the older, now superseded, measurements of 43 and a bit degrees. When the questions came I was in like Flint
! His basic answer was that the older measurements gave an interesting Pythogorean triple.
Nuff said (c).
