I'll add my scepticism opt Bryan's: It ain't that amazing when you take into account all the things you think of that don't happen. We tend to notice the ones that do happen, not vice versa.

Miond you, it was spooky when I first came to the UK -- within a month, I had bumped into 4 people I'd been at school with in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) -- on train stations, and the like, not through hanging out "Rhodie" meeting places down the Earl's Court Road, etc. Unfortunately one of the 4 was someone of whom I thought as I boarded the plane to leave: the thoughts were along the line of "Thank God I'll never have to see Garth Pullar again!"
