The same here! 4-5 times resources, 3-9 times kill-death ratio, get to top age and enemy might, MIGHT, get to the third age. If a navy is possible then enemy is not even out of the 2nd age.
Started to do the 2-2, 2-3 scenarios and choosing beforehand which arm of military I am going to exclusively use. Have won with soley myth units, archers, heck even slingers with civilians building up some walled in castles and towers! When the AI keeps sending infantry/cavalry only to attack walls maxed and with castles and towers next to the walls and 30-40 archers/slingers sitting there waiting gives the impression that the AI isn't too I to begin with! I will have to check that one out as well! At least the AoE fixed the farm/fish problem!
That would eat up half the time just creating new farms and moving boat two lengths to new fish source!
