That makes sense on a certain level and is all well and good for Lawyers (whose Canon of Ethics is written in legalese that means you need a lawyer to comprehend what it said).

There is a full canon of ethics for engineers that I have subscribed to.
I would be unable to "milk this dud" the way, perhaps, karma would indicate he should be.
