The Sun has certainly been active, but its hardly been extraordinarily so, especially considering that we are now pretty close to the most active period of the sunspot cycle. (BTW, if anyone has eclipse shades, there is a nice big sunspot group currently visible without optical aid.)

A CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) hit Earth on Tuesday/Wednesday. If you stuff was down before that, it probably [g] wasn't the cause.
