The problem I have with these assertions of precessional significance is that there are much more prosaic explanations for these numbers (essentially 12 and 60; once you have these two the rest follow easily by natural combination, etc.). e.g.: There are normally 12 lunations per year and 12 is the least number that has all the integer factors up to 4, making it easily divisible. It is easy to count in 12s on the fingers by putting the thumb to each phalanx of the fingers of the same hand; and the phalanges give a visual image of halves, thirds, quarters of 12.

If one then tallies the 12's on the digits of the other hand, one has 60, which also just happens to be the least number with all the integer factors up to 5.
