<HTML>Have you read "Anaclypsis" by Godfrey Higgins (written in the 1840s). His theory is that the Jews <B> descended </B> from the Afghans.
Apparently, the British found the names of Afghan tribes and customs very similar to that of the Jews. The knee jerk reaction was to say that this derived from Islamic invaders. Higgins argues against that theory.
The Afghans were called "solimani" -- the tribe of Solomon.
His books were widely criticized by the "Establishment" at the time, but he was one of the first to point out prcessional numbers in many religious texts.</HTML>
