<HTML>A theory... ANY theory... is a conclusion based on available data. Sometimes, people make QUICK conclusions... and there is LOTS more data they could be using. Sometimes, they sit and analyze the data for decades and NEVER even propose a theory.
At some point in this information gathering process, someone is going to step out and draw a conclusion. This conclusion... or theory... or "belief"... stands until further evidence disproves it.
There is nothing "unscientific" about this process. It is the only process that works. Usually one can NEVER have ALL the available data... only what is "accessible".
Let's not fault intelligent people for making GOOD theory based on ACCESSIBLE data. Rather, let's give them the data that may or may not disprove their theories so we can ALL move along.
Does that make sense?
