I fear that a fullscale war is coming, not against a literal handful of fanatical lunatics, but against entire countries, the so-called rouge states.

Yes. It is coming. Let me assure of that.
But it is hoped that the invasion of only one or two such nations will force the others to cooperate and exterminate their terrorist elements without international compromise of their soverienty.
Many Americans are going to lose their lives in this war. But we have NO CHOICE. If we do not act now, our own country will someday be anihilated by nuclear weapons. Let us hope that this war ends with the institution of a new sense of international cooperation - enfoced by US military might.
As for Isreal and Palestine, I cant predict the terms of the solution - but I can assure you that a solution will be FORCED on this region eventually - at the point of a gun. Arafat knows this. I suspect he's known this ever sinse he saw the aircraft striking the WTC (hense his supression of Palastinian CELEBRATIONS and his rush to give blood).
But neither side is going to be happy with what happens. Neither side.
HOWEVER....This will be an AMERICAN imperialism - not a palastinian Imperialism or Isreali imperialism. American interests will be paramount. Morality will have little to do with the settlement imposed.
Life isn't fair - but its' damn well going to be a lot more sucure for America when this war is over!
