Well, in the case of Llygadwy, the archaeologists were furious that the objects - all of which were genuine, IIRC - had been robbed of their invaluable archaeological context.

And, although it was stated at the end of the programme that the farmer intended to donate the La Tene sword to a museum, this 2007 paper states that, given the lack of context and the evidence of repairs of tte sort generally carried out by unscrupulous go-betweens, no museum was prepared to accept it.
