Episode 1, Gunung Padang, shows a close up of a cross-section made from drill cores with the lithology symbolized for borings. The layers, which the "11,600 BP" and "24,000" BP "datable material" came from are pure basalt, likely columnar basalt, as suggested by the lithology symbology. I strong suspect that the "datable material," whatever it might be, came from basalt bedrock, which for unknown reasons, has been misinterpreted as manmade construction. In addition, younger C14 ages lie stratigraphically below older C14, which means there are serious reliability issues with the ages that need to be clarified before they can be interpreted as C14 dates. There needs to be a open access of raw data to researchers at least, if Hancock wants to claim that Gunung Padang is an Ice Age pyramid.
