Dr Eleanor Scerri and Dr Huw Groucutt are leading the current project looking at the first inhabitants. The Belfast project ended. Both are personal friends and Dr Scerri is Maltese. There is currently zero evidence for Palaeolithic or early Holocene human occupation of the Maltese islands. Hancock can bluster all he wants but it doesn't change reality. If evidence of a human occupation earlier than the middle Holocene emerges then it will be because of the efforts of archaeologists. Hancock and his supporters cannot handle that archaeology is not static. It is one of the most quarraelsome multi-disciplines in existence.
