There is religion (the dogmatic, robotic worship of God the way some dude with a theological degree wants you to) and there is a belief in a Supreme Being. I'm not religious at all and yet I believe in a Divine Consciousness with which we are all a part of.
Evolution is not anti-god in the slightest. It is anti-religious dogma. I personally believe that everyone has their own relationship to the Divine Source (call it God, Allah, or Snoopy, it makes no diff) even if they are currently unaware of it or choose not to believe in it - which is perfectly fine. Evolution and the process of physical growth and change on earth is, in my opinion, the physical manifistation of this Divine Energy within all living things. Evolution is the process of creation from which all physical life originates.
Science and scientific fact (evolution) IS NOT in conflict with the concept of a Divine Consciousness. Scientific law is a direct representation of the Divine Source manifesting itself in the physical world. Everything on earth is an expression/manifsation of this Source and is guided by the Universal Laws partially measured by science.
The whole idea of some old man with a flowing white beard dictating the lives and direction, creation and end of the earth is rather kindergarden in my opinion.
It it comes down to it, science is about understanding God (I really don't like using the term "God" as it tends to put a dogmatic, religious view on the whole thing).
