If you've got Lehner's TCPs there's a pic in there that summarises all the renovations on the Sphinx (nice pastel coloured bricks indicating repairs at different periods IIRC). I think Lehner did a considerable amount of research on this in the '80s. I also seem to recall nodding off at that point while reading it (sorry it's just not a gripping subject for me).
