Yes, I believe in etymology-as far as it can be taken. If I say I bought a Toyota truck in Tampa Florida, That would be the truth. The Truck, however, was probably assembled in Mexico, with parts and design imported from Japan. So though it may have a Tampa dealer symbol stuck on it, that is not the "true" origin of the vehicle. Simply where I acquired it.

The same concept is in play with the words I listed. Deity is from deus, true. But "deus" can ultimately be traced back to the root of the numeral 2. As can the root "divine" and so forth.
