<HTML>Mikey,
I sure am. it was a great programme, and really got me thinking about all the mud thrown against 'Academia'.
we had a case here in Ireland in the last week where a leader of our 1916 rising (against Britain), Roger Casement, was tried for treason and his diaries showed him to be a very deviant homosexual. He was hung.
It now appears that the diaries are forgeries. Why? The authorities were afraid he would become a martyr so before executing him they assassinated his character. He was an internationally known human rights figure and respected hugely in the US.
The denegrating and impugning of 'academics' motives and characters is the same crass attempt to discredit and devalue their work and therefore the weight their words carry.
Pathetic ploy really. Funnily enough I bet the only such 'academics' would the type, as mentioned in Claires post, of creationist geologist and their ilk.
