The disk decoding is based on the isopsephia notion(Greek lexarithmoi). In the modern Greek as also the ancient Greek alphabet each letter has a specific arithmetic value. My hypothesis is that this also is the case with the syllabic Phaistos disc hieroglyphs. I then related these symbols with an ancient alphabet - the oldest(unknown till now) and determined the arithmetic values. I then checked to see if I could assign phonetic values to the hieroglyphs based on the work of other researchers like Tsikritsis and Polygiannaki. I noticed that the number code was used so as to help us decode the disk. This way I was able to assign phonetic values to difficult cases - hieroglyphs that don't show up enough so as to check statistically in regards to other writing systems like Tsikritsis did with Linear B. I wrote a computer program that checked different isopsephia combinations in regards to attractive numerological statistical outcomes. This way I was able to come up with the optimum deciphering. The translation was another phase - more difficult that the previous. I had to go over Tsikritsis publications on Aegean scripts as also check Linear B' word occurrences - Hooker's book was very useful in this regard.

The disk is assumed to be text because symbols on the disk are similar to syllabic symbols (Linear B' or Linear A' or even other Minoan hieroglyphic symbols) and therefore seem to be related. We also have similar text on different objects like the Arkhalokhori axe and the Malia kernos. It is not logical to assume that these symbols are anything else than text. Also the symbol frequencies have been studied statistically in regards to other writing systems and have confirmed that they have the structure of text. I don't know of any qualified linguist or other expert that disagrees on the text hypothesis.

Now as I said the reason for dividing the text into phrases and sentences is the way it is designed, the way lines divided text into 61 sections, the way slanted lines also divided the text into 18 greater sections. Since certain phrases are large - 7 syllables it is logical that they can consist of more than 1 words. This way we have the hieroglyphs(syllables), words, phrases, sentences, structure.
