We spread over the planet, consuming resources, and altering the atmosphere.

When we have altered the atmosphere sufficiently, we will spread to other planets, and continue our consumption/migration... like locusts, or a virus. We spread.

Our destruction of the atmosphere/environment MAY BE one of our survival traits that has instinctually developed over the millenia. After all, if we can destroy and spread, we have less chance of being eradicated as a species if we have more than one foothold. Our environmental destruction FORCES us to spread. We leave some humans behind, but no where near the numbers prior to the "infection".

The masses move on and conquer new territories... new lands... new worlds.

My big fear?

One day very soon the Galactic Orkin Man is going to come spray our solar system for those dreaded biological cockroaches... known as "humans".
