What you're not factoring in is the slope.

At best, you could pull those big blocks up a 9 - 12 degree angle. The gallery, if memory serves, is in excess of 26 degrees.

Way too vertical.

Also, lets not forget the "wrap around" ramps. They would be of much smaller construction. However, they run into a slop problem near the top 30 feet of the pyramid, whereby they actually must overhang lower ramps... not a good idea with a 2 ton block and 10 guys traversing it.
