This is entirely possible. I Don't believe it though. The concept
of a river with a dead-end arm is simply abhorant. It's exceedingly
difficult to imagine that a river channel will be carved from simply
flooding even a large region for hundreds of thousands of years. This
isn't impossible, simply difficult to imagine. It's a very safe bet
that there are no other rivers with a dead end branch and Amazon may
flood more deeply than the Nile ever did.
Look around with the satellite image above. You can see what appears
to be an old Nile delta to the west of Giza. Russian scientists found
the Nile was once deeper than the Grand Canyon and has filled in.
If you're not interested in mundane geology then look at the pyramids
at Giza. What's all this for instance?

This looks for all the world like rock to me:

Look around on that satellite. I've found some more surprising
things than the candlewax formations but the others I understand
even less perhaps.
>"Read about the culture first. Look at the site reports second. Don't bother theorizing until you have ALL the data you can amass on the subject.
As Sherlock Holmes once said in "A Scandal in Bohemia",
Quote:
"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts."
That is what you're doing here, Clad. The simple fact that Khufu built his WHOLE pyramid for himself completely destroys your idea. I would take the time to analyze the data that supports this first. Once you know it all, then you won't even bother looking at these redesign schemes, lost cultures, or miraculous hydraulic technologies. Khufu built the whole thing as his burial edifice. Period. It's about as close to "fact" rather than theory as gravity or evolution. Being unaware of these facts, and the logic that binds them together, leaves you open to timewasting speculations... like some of the ones you have shown here in this list.
Of course, you are completely free to ignore everything I've written. I'm just trying to save you time and energy and of course, your reputation as a researcher. "

Please don't misunderstand. I am well aware that all your points are valid
and constitute good advice. I also know I can't prove this my myself using the
net as the resource. But, I also can't give it up until I don't believe it
anymore.
On your advice I have been poking around a little looking at culture but, at the
risk of heresy, this is of far less interest to me.
My doc told me something very similar today about one of my other crazy
theories but then he went ahead and ran the tests anyway.
