Actually that's decidedly questionable. Certainly *some* defenders seem
to have been executed after surrendering, (and I hasten to add there is *nothing*
dishonorable about accepting an offer of quarter in the face of overwhelming odds)
but the stories vary so much it's impossible to establish the facts, and Crocket
might well not have been among them. God knows the description of 'Crocket' in the
accounts doesn't match the man.
