I recall once reading of a boat (skin boat, I think?) found off the coast of either france or spain (a century or more prior to Columbus), containing three people (two dead, one woman living) with light brown skin, straight black hair, & black eyes.... wearing fur clothing. The woman was reported to have been taken inland to some city or another, there was no further surviving record of her.

Given the rather overwhelming LACK of cultural/technological traits in common, if it did happen, it didn't have any significant effect.
