Nice poem.

I think excessive attention is payed to Egyptian afterlife beliefs because of the disproportionate number of tombs found. Most of the houses were built of mudbrick so have not survived, and most of the inscriptions found are from tombs. If you look at the texts on the temples fro example they are not obsessed with death.

Its a general misconception I think that the AE's were any more obsessed with death than we are. The pyramids were about continuity of life as much as death.
