<HTML>Hi Martin,
Ishmael is criticising Garret's view of archaeology taking precedent over geology.
>>it occurs to me that it might not be archaeology which has nothing to contribute to this debate.
What does this sentence mean?
Are you saying geology has no part to play in the Sphinx debate?
Schoch has looked at the archaeological evidence before he came to his conclusions " in short there is circumstancial evidence on both sides" (pre-khafre Sphinx and khafre sphinx).
"The physical evidence is the deciding factor" (page 46 Voices... ).
Why would Schoch say this Martin? I think because he studied the physical evidence which leads him to his conclusion- no more no less.
Are you saying you put more credibility on Lehner's opinion that the Sphinx looks like Khafre.
Best,
John</HTML>
