Not exactly. you have to play around with it first.

If the ancients did however play around with it then yes, they may have discovered its hidden ratio. You say it is not hidden, I say it is.

Two by one rectangles are just 2 x 1 rectangles.

I suspect you are treating our ancient mathematicians as morons who just happened to construct .... I was going to say a monument with a machine but I won't.</HTML>
