One of the truths I think Petrie brought home to us is that the height of the GP couldn't be computed with any great accuracy; ie +/- 7 inches. The reason he gave was that he had no way of telling how thick the missing outer casing would be as it came down to meet the pavement. Sure, the corner sockets are recognized but without the corner casing to fit the pavement I assume he is correct. Such a plus or minus applied to height renders the base and seked slope unmeasurable so in summary everyone's personal theory on the GP size, shape and accuracy cannot be confirmed. I therefore find the illogical Phi and Pi application just as tenable as the logical 440/280 cubit application, that is providing we know what a cubit is.</HTML>
