It is quite accurate, but it is not a photographic representation. Egyptian art is usually not photographic. It also shows an idealized sky. It shows the entire sky which is not visible at one time.
It is Egyptian from Greek times, but it shows late Egyptian, not only Greek, constellations. It also shows a group of the decan stars, around the outer rim.
Jeff is right about "Orion" at 2 o'clock, the figure holding a wAs sceptre is sAh.
IMO, the Egyptians even in the New Kingdom did not recognize constellations as such, so what Dave is looking for is not there.</HTML>
