The Giza planetarium uses the simple decadic multiple or sub-multiple principle. It also uses the name of Khafre - Khaf-Re, Re being the Sun god to relate the apex of Khafre's pyramid to the position of the Sun.
Let's not forget the name of this pyramid - Khafre is Great, Khaf-Re is Great, the Sun is great, very big.
I then draw two circles one corresponding to the minimum distance of a planet to the Sun - perihelion and the other to the maximum distance of a planet from the Sun - aphelion.
