Hi all I have been re-reading some old threads and came across this posting of mine in relation to the mass of The Sun. Here is what Wiki says ...

It says that this measurement of 1.98892 x 10 to the 30th power (x 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) kg is used as a standard unit of measurement in relation to other stars

Now as some of you might know in my studies I concluded that that the semi major axis' of Mercury and Earth were in an almost exact 12 to 31 ratio. That is the distance from the Sun to Earth is 2.5833333 (31/12) times the distance to Mercury. Thus distance from Sun to Mercury is designated as 1 and from Mercury to Earth as 1.5833333 (19/12). Fine so far. But then I noticed a curious thing If one squares this number one gets 1.58333 squared and we get 2.5069444... Now 1/2.506944 = 0.398891967. Now if one multiplies by 10 (3.988919667) and subtracts 2 one is left with precisely this solar mass as defined by scientists of 1.988919667

Why subtract 2 ? Why multiply by 10 to the 30th power ? Not sure but I have always felt that gravity and mass and weight has to be based on distances.

Is this just an amazing co-incidence of which I am so adept at finding ?

Any thoughts ?
