Hi all ... I would have posted this in science and technology but ... well never mind. My question to the floor is given a prism in the precise shape of The Great Pyramid with angle of exactly 51.8539555771 degrees and made of 1) Water 589.29 Index of refraction 1.330 and 2) Fused silica (a pure form of glass, also called fused quartz) 589.29 IofR 1.458 what would be the deflection angle of the wave lengths of light of red, yellow, green, blue and purple given that the wave lengths are ...

Red = about 650 nm
Yellow = about 570 nm
Green = about 510 nm
Blue = about 475 nm
Purple (violet) = about 400 nm

In this diagram below:

We are going to assume firstly that a beam of light hits the pyramid prism at an angle precisely horizontal to its base and secondly that it hits he pyramid at an angle of 26.5 degrees from the horizontal.

Question what would the angle of each light colour be on exiting the pyramid prism for both scenarios ?
