The science of geodesy evolved through the ancient Hellenic philosophers - mathematicians trying to compute the latitude and longitude of various places. But did an ancient race exist that had more advanced knowledge?

In Egypt a djed is a pillar-like symbol representing stability. It is associated with Osiris, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, the underworld, and the dead.

At the same time the ancient Egyptians believed in sacred mountains in the East and West that held up the sky. They also had the akhet horizon notion. In Plato we read about the pillars of Hercules.

The question is how much can geodesy evolve and what is the perfect geodetic ellipsoid Earth model? Khufu's father, Sneferu erected his last pyramid that became the architectural pattern for all latter smooth sided geometric pyramids.

So if from this pyramid, the Red pyramid at Dahsur one finds the closest root on the globe (part of a greater circle) to the third tallest mountain peak in Peru, he would notice that the azimuth is exactly 270 degrees - true West. The tallest mountain in Peru is Huascarán and its two tallest peaks Huascarán Sur, and Huascarán Norte constitute are nr 1 and 2 in Peru especially. The Red pyramid therefore aligns with mount Yerupajá with an elevation of 6,617 meters.

Below we see that Sneferu or his architect not only knew the Earth was round but he knew it was not a perfect sphere, he knew the exact spheroid sphape.
