Actually I simply use Petrie's measurements. He set the co-ordinates and the distances. I just use what he has given us.

As to the measurements of The Giza Plateau itself perhaps this will help:

He got 1417.35 cubits (2922297 inches + or -) for distance
horizontally from centre of west face of G3 to east fact centre of G1
He got 1732.25 cubits (35717.65 inches + or -) for distance from north face of G1 measured
vertically to south face of G3
(1417.35/9) X 11 = 1732.317
That's why we use a 9 x 11 grid.
Because it works exactly !!!
Regardless of how you want to spin it the distance across the Giza Plateau is exactly 1/9th of The Earth's diameter in a scale of 1 cubit (on Giza Plateau) = 1 kilometre (on Earth).
