Provided the AE used a "look down 2D" layout process, which there is little indication they did.

The AE culture was very concerned with a horizontal view, and sought balance, pleasing and impressive perspectives.

Look at Hatsheput's temple for an example. It's positively beautiful in the horizontal view, not very balanced at all in the 2D "Look Down" layout. This makes a WORLD of sense to a society without flight...

Imho you are wallpapering YOUR belief system over their culture...
