Anthony he got it wrong. It is not a segment of a circle it is an egg shape. He got it wrong but no one has ever bothered to study it since 1926, I guess because like you, they all think it is unimportant.
It could be for the arch as he claims but how would one measure down to or up from a non existing baseline on something like this:

And this image leaves much room for doubt as to whether he has done it correctly. Like his circle theory I think this is incorrect as well.
Odd too that the builder would leave his blueprint at the site.
Since 1926, as far as I know, no one has come up with an alternative to his circle idea. I guess that speaks tons for what Egyptologists think of math problems in general.
Regardless how do you suppose the builder figured out the distances ?
