Hi all ...
Over the last couple of days I have studied Petrie's notes on the walls and triangulation at Giza and have come up with a theory that the walls were either:
a) Used to lay out The Pyramids (especially G3)
or
b) The Pyramid already being there these walls were laid out as siting points around The Pyramids although why they would have done that remains a mystery to me.
In the following diagrams taken from a plate by Petrie himself I think it shows conclusively either a or b.
I am more and more convinced that the pyramids were the instruments that the Ancient Egyptians used to re-survey their lands after the annual floods and if this is true we have sorely underestimated their knowledge of geometry. I will let the images below speak for themselves as they really need no explanation.

and then this one ...
and as usual a

Of course these as usual could simply be co-incidental but I hardly think so. Perahps this post might spur others to dig into other works where the corners of these walls are better documented for I think they have a lot to tell us.
Best Regards
