It’s one of the many theories that can explain the findings. I do not know which has more possibilities of being correct.

If this is truly the case then we are missing something important that will help us explain the past. Can God fill in the gap. I mean if no God, no aliens, no lost civilization, no time travel, then what? Chaotic strange attracters, prophecies, quantum non-local interactions, self and fractal organizing communities, hallucinogenic plants, out of body trans-planetary voyages etc?
