Hello Monty,

First, Petrie's inch was the humble British Imperial inch - equivalent to 25.4 mms.

Second, the AEs did not have a unit of measurement equivalent to this.
Royal cubits, small cubits, t'sers, shoulders, wide span, small span, hands, palms, digits, etc., yes.

British Imperial Inches or the precise equivalent of, definitely not.

Nor is there a single shred of evidence for the so-called Pyramid Inch, 1.001 British inches.
IIRC, that was created - rather imaginatively I feel - by the astronomer Herschel somewhen in the early (?) 19th Century.
