As far as I know, Hancock booked that hall under false pretenses, not mentioning that he would be presenting Bauval's ideas. Hawass was right to reject Hancock's offer of a debate.
Hancock has a reputation of trying to set up debates under false pretenses. He has done to recently regarding his controversial Netflix "documentary" Ancient Apocalypse, where he has demanded he debate with Dr John Hoopes on Joe Rogan's show, knowing full well that Joe Rogan has a strong bias towards Hancock. When Flint Dibble offered to debate Hancock instead, Hancock refused the offer, maintaining that he would only debate Dr Hoopes, knowing full well that Hoopes had already rejected the offer. He did this in order to perpetuate the idea that he was being suppressed by academia.
Hail Atlantis.
